Wrinkle Relaxers

Relax the muscle movements that cause lines and wrinkles with Botox®, Dysport®, and Jeuveau®

Are you troubled by lines and wrinkles developing on your forehead and in the delicate skin surrounding your eyes? Frequently called dynamic wrinkles and lines, these skin changes appear as a result of repetitious expressions, including squinting, frowning, and smiling. As women and men become older, these wrinkles and lines ultimately become more pronounced and can make them look less youthful. With the use of wrinkle relaxers we may be able to temporarily minimize the formation of these lines.

We are able to customize dosage differently for each person, allowing you to have a more natural look with minimal movement or no movement at all. Treatment is quick and painless. Areas that can be treated include the forehead, the 11's in between your eyebrows and above the eyebrows, the smile lines or crow's feet on the outside of your eyes, bunny lines on both sides of the nose, upper lip and around the mouth for a lip flip or to relax smoker's lines, along the jaw for TMJ and jowls, and the neck for loose skin bands and wrinkles. We can also treat the armpits for excessive sweating.

We will be more than happy to answer any questions not covered here over the phone or during a consultation.

  • This minimally invasive treatment provides noticeable results without the need for incisions, general anesthesia, or long recovery times. Additional benefits of treatment include:

    • Minimal discomfort: Tiny injections that cause little discomfort.

    • Quick treatment times: A treatment session takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.

    • Convenience: There is no downtime associated — so patients can resume normal activities immediately after their appointment.

    • Affordability: Wrinkle relaxers are often more affordable than alternative cosmetic procedures like a facelift.

  • All of these neuromodulators or wrinkle reducers work in the same way by temporarily stopping the muscles from moving. The dosage or units needed for each of these is a little different, and where and how they are injected can be a little different.

It is just like how Tylenol®, Aspirin® and Advil® can all treat pain or a fever, but the dosage and timing is different for all three.

Our injectors are trained and experienced with all of these products, and are able to customize which product to use the dosage according to your unique goals and budget.

  • Are you frustrated by wrinkles, lines, and the overall signs of aging on your face? Then you can be a perfect candidate for wrinkle relaxers. Men and women seeking a minimally invasive solution to minimize Crow's feet, frown lines, or forehead creases may be prime candidates for wrinkle relaxer injections. These can also be a good cosmetic option if you are bothered by obvious "11" lines between the eyes (glabellar lines) that create a tired, angry, or prematurely aged look. Treatments have increased in favor among younger patients, as well. Although women and men ages 20 – 30 may not yet exhibit the signs of aging, these products may be administered as a preventive option to help ward off the normal aging process by temporarily reducing or stalling the advancement of age-related wrinkles.

  • At your initial consultation, we will perform a cosmetic analysis to designate which areas need treatment. We will also establish which of our wrinkle relaxers will be best for you and your desired goals. From there, we can create a custom treatment plan. During your treatment, the formula will be placed into the designated areas of your forehead or face using a fine-gauge needle. Your treatment should only take a few minutes, and the majority of patients experience only minor discomfort (like a pinprick or pinching sensation). It's normal to see a little mild bruising, redness, and swelling in the treatment areas, but these symptoms shouldn't persist. Within a few days, you should start to notice smoother, firmer skin. Your cosmetic injections should offer up to four months of natural-looking, youthful enhancements; however, we will suggest how frequently you should undergo injections to maintain your desired results. Following your visit, you can leave our facility and carry on with your normal day.

  • It is common to experience a bit of slight swelling, bruising, and redness in the treatment sites, but this shouldn't persist. We may suggest that you refrain from rigorous physical activity, or going out in the sun, and keep yourself from touching the injection sites until after a day or so. Over the next 48 – 72 hours, you will likely begin to notice your firm, smooth results. Wrinkle relaxer injections could offer up to four months of natural-looking, youthful aesthetic enhancements for most men and women. Our team will suggest how frequently you need injections as part of a customized plan to meet your cosmetic results. We can provide you with the approximate cost of wrinkle relaxer services, but the price varies according to how many units are administered and the product used.

One of the main questions we often hear is, "How long does it take to work?" Generally, these medications starts to show initial effects within the first 24 – 48 hours following the procedure. However, the full cosmetic benefits usually take around 10-14 days for optimal results. It's crucial to understand that these timelines can vary from one individual to another, depending on a range of variables. These variables include the depth and location of wrinkles, the overall health of the patient, and the injection areas.

Several factors can influence the rate at which neuromodulators take effect, and they are worth considering to set realistic expectations:

    • Dosage: The amount injected can have a direct impact on how quickly and how long the results last. Precise dosing, customized to each patient's needs, is crucial for optimum results. This is why it's essential to consult a qualified healthcare provider for an individualized treatment plan.

    • Areas of treatment: The specific facial area being treated can also influence how quickly BOTOX® works. For example, forehead lines may respond differently compared to Crow's feet or frown lines.

    • Metabolism: Interestingly, your metabolic rate can also influence the duration of the effects. A faster metabolism may result in a shorter duration of effectiveness, requiring more frequent treatments to maintain results.

  • The amount given will vary according to individual needs and the extent of your lines and wrinkles. An experienced member of our team will suggest the correct number of units and injections according to your treatment outcomes and whether you want to address the Crow's feet, forehead, or between the eyes. To prolong your cosmetic results, we could recommend having injections every 3 – 4 months.

  • Yes, you can. Wrinkle relaxer procedures typically pair well with other nonsurgical options for individuals who prefer to reduce aging concerns. If you experience more pronounced and severe facial lines, our experts might talk with you about administering a filler to help you achieve maximum outcomes. To further improve a younger-looking radiant appearance, we could perform other complementary treatments, including a ViPeel® chemical peel or RF microneedling.

  • As is the case with the majority of injection-based treatments, individuals will experience a slight pinprick feeling as the injection is given. Note that any discomfort only goes on for several seconds, and the majority of people tell us that this minor discomfort is not bad. Our team will help ensure you feel relaxed throughout your therapy. If needed, we can utilize a numbing cream to make your procedure more comfortable.

  • Wrinkle relaxers, such as Botox®, Dysport®, and Jeuveau®, are treatments that can temporarily reduce the appearance of wrinkles and lines. The duration of the results varies based on the specific product used, the amount, and individual factors. Typically, the effects of wrinkle relaxers can last between 3 – 4 months. Over time, the treated muscles gradually regain their movement, and wrinkles may reappear. To maintain the desired results, patients may choose to schedule follow-up treatments.

  • It is generally recommended to avoid receiving wrinkle relaxers during pregnancy or while breastfeeding because they are considered category C drugs during pregnancy by the FDA. This means there isn't enough research available to deem them safe during pregnancy. As with any cosmetic treatment with us, patient safety is our priority. If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, we advise discussing your cosmetic treatment options with your healthcare provider before considering Botox® or other wrinkle relaxer treatments.

  • Following wrinkle relaxer injections, it is essential to adhere to our team's post-treatment recommendations to minimize the risk of side effects and ensure the best possible results. In most cases, it's wise to wait 24 hours before resuming any exercise or strenuous physical activity. This waiting period helps reduce the risk of the injected medication migrating to unintended areas, or being sweat out of the skin before it is completely absorbed.

Patients should also avoid other activities that increase blood flow to the face in the first 24 hours following injections. This includes bending over, lying down flat, getting a massage, or engaging in inverted yoga poses. Increased blood flow to the face can potentially cause the medication to spread beyond the targeted muscles.

After 24 hours, you can resume your exercise routine gradually. As always, it's essential to listen to your body and avoid pushing yourself too hard. If you experience any discomfort, swelling, or bruising around the injection sites, take a break or modify your routine until these symptoms subside.
